From
the film Fun In Acapulco

front of an entire wall of guitars, bass, piano, drums, xylophone and
a chior. Too bad the song itself is a bit dumb.

This
song, recorded by both Marty Robbins and Frankie Lane in 1969, became
a metaphor for Elvis' pain in the aftermath of his divorce and seperation
from his daughter. He perfromed it extensively on stage, first in the
Elvis On Tour film/documentary
in 1972, however the first recorded version came from the Aloha concert.
This track was also one of the tracks he perfromed in his final CBS television
special in 1977.

Elvis'
version of the Righteous Brothers' 1964 hit is a tour de force of vocal
style, power, soul and an instance of his band maximising his presence.
The song was perfromed during the film TTWII
in 1970. Elvis' version at Madison Square Garden in 1972 was a bit more
tentative due to nerves, but no less powerful.
